Mobile shopping reward platform developer shopkick has updated its app with several new features, including allowing users to complete purchases from more than 30 retailers directly through the app. Additionally, favorite items can be organized into user-defined collections of products called “books.”
The new app features are designed to help retail partners like American Eagle Outfitters boost sales and loyalty using shopkick rewards called “kicks.” American Eagle was one of the initial launch partners with shopkick in 2010.
“With this new shopkick version… we are now able to meet the consumer desire for kicks not only in the American Eagle stores, but anywhere our customers may be via shopkick and our mobile commerce,” said Joe Megibow, SVP & GM of Omnichannel e-Commerce at American Eagle Outfitters, in a shopkick press release.

Shopkick was created to leverage the mobile touch point and reward consumers wherever they shop. Kicks are delivered to shoppers when they walk into stores, browse items, interact with demo products and make purchases with shopkick-affiliated retailers. Kicks can be cashed in and exchanged for gift cards, a meal, luxury items, music, movie tickets and donations to charity.
For the new app features, “We combined shopkick’s in-store functionality with curated product books and the ability to earn kicks for buying right in the app to make every type of shopping experience better,” added Cyriac Roeding, CEO and Co-Founder of shopkick.
