Macy’s will open four of its off-mall, smaller-format stores throughout the late summer and fall. These 30,000- to 50,000-square-foot locations will offer a curated assortment of Macy’s fashion, beauty, luxury fragrances and more, as well as a “Trend Pavilion” housing a continuous flow of trending and seasonal merchandise.

The stores will be located in Highland, Ind. (opening August 2023); Boston; Las Vegas (both opening in September); and San Diego, debuting in November.

Macy’s appears to be embracing this new format: while earlier incarnations of the smaller stores have been bannered as Market by Macy’s, these stores will simply be named Macy’s. The retailer had announced plans to expand its off-mall presence with additional smaller-format stores in May 2023.

The new stores will feature elevated fitting rooms with larger spaces, lounge areas, full-length mirrors and selfie moments, as well as “styling carts” that help customers explore the latest trends from head to toe. They will also offer BOPIS and curbside pickup for online orders.
