Danish retailer Dagrofa and discount chain REMA 1000 have selected Verifone to streamline their digital payments.
Denmark is known as a leader in cashless payments with an 80% adoption rate. The Verifone upgrade will help both retailers drive consumer adoption of mobile payments, since the solution allows Danish consumers to use MobilePay and Dankort, the country’s national debit card.
“We want to make it even easier for our customers to make digital payments,” said Per Thau, CEO of Dagrofa in a statement. “Verifone has all the necessary functionality and provides an open and very straightforward solution at the cash register. Combining every type of payment in the same device makes life easier for both customers and our employees. Our goal is to deliver excellent experiences related to food, and Verifone’s solution will help us deliver on this goal.”
