Alltel Wireless Supports Store Growth with Oracle

Allt
el Wireless, a telecommunications provider serving six states, has implemented Oracle Retail Stores Solutions[LPC1]  across all of its retail locations to support its growing consumer and commercial customer base in the U.S. The company announced that is improving store operations, tightening inventory control, simplifying the purchase process and enhancing the customer experience with two new rollouts: Oracle Retail Point-of-Service and Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management.

“As a start-up company, we required a reliable solutions provider that had the tools we needed to get our business up, running and growing,” said Sandy Morgan, Director of IT Operations, Alltel Wireless, in a press release. “Oracle Retail has helped us establish a transaction environment that is guided and accurate so that our employees aren’t left open to make mistakes. Ultimately, we are delivering a better in-store experience for customers.”

Oracle Retail Point-of-Service helps Alltel streamline the payment process, reduce complexity for the sales team, and capitalize on the strengths of cash and inventory management tools. The goal is to access reliable, real-time store transactions data to improve store, merchandising and inventory decisions.

Alltel is managing its retail and business accounts, warehouse stores and outside vendors with Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management. This strategy enables more accurate reporting based on inventory levels and sales, and more efficient shipping and receiving schedules to maintain optimized inventory, according to the press statement.

The two modules also help Alltel manage stock control and cash payment functions to inform merchandising and inventory decisions, eliminating the need to invest in a full merchandising system. In stores, the Oracle Retail user interface allows Alltel to minimize training time, enabling store employees to quickly and easily complete transactions and orders using the new point-of-service system.

SkillNet, a systems integrator and Gold level member in the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), partnered in the implementation.
