Adidas has opened its first U.S.-only soccer-focused flagship store at North Jersey’s American Dream mall, in advance of this summer’s FIFA World Cup 2026 games. Several games will be played at MetLife Stadium — located next door to the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, N.J. — including the finale on July 19, 2026.
The 9,000-square-foot store features mannequins dressed in their national (e.g. Germany, Italy, Argentina) Adidas apparel, a mural honoring soccer superstar Lionel Messi and a display featuring a replica of every Adidas ball used during the World Cup over the past 50 years.
“Designed as an immersive, soccer-driven retail experience, the new store showcases premium footwear, performance apparel, Adidas originals and exclusive collections that celebrate the culture of the global game and cater to fans of all levels,” according to an American Dream LinkedIn post.
The store’s first 200 visitors received a custom Adidas Zine featuring exclusive content, World Cup schedules and other surprises. Following this soft opening, Adidas is planning a grand opening celebration for Feb. 25, with athlete appearances and additional details to be announced.
“This opening reinforces our commitment to bringing iconic brands and culturally relevant experiences to our guests, especially as the world turns its attention to the global game,” said Adam Petrick, Chief Marketing Officer at American Dream in a statement.
The Adidas opening is part of a broader program of World Cup-related activations at American Dream this year, helping establish the property as a gathering place for sports fans and global events.
