Dollar General has partnered with Uber Eats for on-demand delivery from more than 14,000 Dollar General and Popshelf stores across the country. Following a similar deal with Family Dollar for delivery from its 5,000 stores that was announced in May 2025, this latest partnership gives Uber Eats a dominant position in delivery for the value retail sector.
“Our customers will enjoy even greater convenience through our Uber Eats partnership, accessing everything from food to essential household items, saving them valuable time and money,” said Tony Rogers, Chief Marketing Officer at Dollar General in a statement.
To promote the new partnership, Uber Eats is offering a 40% discount on Dollar General and Popshelf orders of $20 or more (up to $10), through Sept. 30, 2025. In March 2025 Dollar General announced plans to close 140 stores despite strong financial results in its 2024 fiscal year, which ended in January 2025.
Uber Eats has continued to expand its portfolio into non-food retail this year: Petco joined the Uber Eats delivery portfolio in March 2025, and in June 2025 Five Below partnered for delivery from its 1,500 stores, followed later that month by Dick’s Sporting Goods.
“Retailers today are navigating a rapidly changing landscape — consumers expect convenience, speed and accessibility like never before,” said Hashim Amin, Head of Grocery and Retail at Uber in a statement. “We’re proud to help extend Dollar General’s reach into the on-demand economy, and to help retailers like DG serve their customers in more dynamic and flexible ways.”
