The Home Depot is planning to hire more than 100,000 associates ahead of the busy spring season as shoppers continue to show interest in home improvement projects. Additionally, the retailer will host a Virtual Spring Career Day event on Feb. 16, to help jobseekers find the right role for them and learn about growth opportunities within the company.
Home Depot is seeking to fill positions nationwide through a new, accelerated hiring process that can provide applicants with a position within one day of applying. The hiring effort covers a wide range of jobs, including both full-time and part-time positions in customer service/sales, store support, freight, merchandising and warehouse.
The Virtual Spring Career Day will feature talks with Home Depot leaders and panel sessions that preview day-in-the-life views of different roles, career pathing opportunities and benefits. It also will showcase the retailer’s efforts to give back in communities across the country and its environmental sustainability programs.
“In today’s climate, jobseekers are shopping for the best opportunity,” said Eric Schelling, VP of Global Talent Acquisition at Home Depot in a statement. “At The Home Depot, they’ll find a company that offers much more than a job and a paycheck. Jobseekers will find a values-based company that invests in them with our success sharing bonus program, and also gives them the opportunity to grow — similar to the approximately 90% of our store leaders who started as hourly associates. Additionally, jobseekers will also find upskilling programs that teach and expose them to new skills in other functions like software development, cybersecurity, data science, marketing, supply chain and finance.”

Home Depot isn’t the only retailer looking to bolster its manpower ahead of the spring shopping season. Adidas plans to hire 2,800 new workers across retail, IT and other jobs as retailers seek to overcome labor shortages.
