Rise Dispensaries Revamps Store Design with Latest Rebrand

Rise Dispensaries is refreshing stores in 14 markets to align with its new brand identity.

 Rise Dispensaries, a cannabis retail chain owned by Green Thumb Industries Inc., has revitalized its brand identify and refreshed retail stores across 14 markets.

The new branding, developed in partnership with design firms Turner Duckworth and Brand Bureau, aims to better establish Rise’s awareness and positioning in the U.S. — especially as cannabis enters the mainstream.

To develop the new brand aesthetic, Turner Duckworth tapped into the unique attributes of the cannabis plant. A bold, vibrant color palette is complemented by a raw, textured illustration style. The design firm also drew from the cannabis industry’s upward momentum for inspiration, creating a bird-centric brand mark that embodies the healing and transformative qualities of cannabis.

Brand Bureau was the interior designer for the Rise store prototype design, which translates the visual identity from Turner Duckworth to physical environments. Each refreshed location features illustrations that honor the location and serve as “signature moments” in the customer journey.

“With the newly designed stores, we want patients and customers to feel empowered and supported throughout their Rise experience,” said Jen Denis, VP of Creative Services at Green Thumb in a statement. Brand Bureau helped address these goals by implementing a flexible design flow. “Drawing from our hospitality industry expertise, our goal was not just to simply translate the visual identity to the interiors but provide a new approach to the design and experience of cannabis retail by creating an approachable and memorable environment that guests would want to return to again and again,” said Hilary Miners, Head of Environment Design at Brand Bureau in a statement. “The outcome was achieved by activating the brand in large impact and nuanced touch points through the thoughtfully considered guest journey.”
