Warby Parker, Net-a-Porter Founders To Judge Retail Concept Competition

Appear Here, a marketplace for pop-up shops, has announced its second Space for Ideas competition to discover the next three big retail concepts. The competition aims to provide a platform for talented entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into reality and will be judged by:

  • Neil Blumenthal, Co-Founder of Warby Parker;
  • Natalie Massenet, Founder of Net-a-Porter;
  • Nick Jones, Founder of Soho House; and
  • Ajax Ahmed, Founder of AKQA.

The judges were chosen as industry leaders in their fields and for their ability to build $250 million+ businesses.

The winning concepts will receive a two-week flagship space in London, Paris or New York, as well as mentorship from the judges, design advice and a $4,000 budget to create their ideas. The competition is sponsored by Square and the winners will receive a Square POS hardware kit.

“There is a magic in making an idea come to life,” said Ross Bailey, Founder and CEO of Appear Here in a statement. “That is why we want to give visionary designers, talented entrepreneurs and budding creatives the chance to show the world what their ideas can do. We’re looking for people who can create something truly unique in their space.”

Winners of the first competition included The Possibility Shop by Porterlight Bicycles, Roots and Flax by Run&Fell and WonderLuk.
