A new partnership with Instacart will allow Staples U.S. Retail to offer same-day delivery from more than 1,000 stores. Shoppers will be able to select from home office and back-to-school items, as well as cleaning supplies and PPE to accommodate increased safety needs stemming from COVID-19.
“As we navigate the next chapter of our new normal together, we have an increased responsibility to provide our customers a safe, clean shopping environment, whether they are coming into our stores, picking up a curbside order or getting that order delivered,” said Mike Motz, CEO of Staples Retail U.S. in a statement.
Shoppers can access the Instacart marketplace via www.instacart.com/staples-usa or the Instacart app, then entering their zip code and adding items to their virtual cart. An Instacart personal shopper then goes to the store, picks the items and delivers them within the shopper’s designated time frame — ranging from same-day service to deliveries that can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance. The Instacart interface also allows shoppers to enter their Staples Rewards loyalty program number while shopping, ensuring qualifying purchases are counted toward the customer’s rewards.
