Social Annex has released the Smart Image Ranking Algorithm (SIRA), which enables brands to organize and prioritize large numbers of pictures in a product gallery, based on data and insights into which images are impacting sales.
Transactional factors such as clicks, revenue, shares and relevant comments influence image rankings, as do social factors including likes, friends and followers. The SIRA ranks both company and user-generated content, as product images shared by users in real-life scenarios can often have more power than brand-produced stock images.

With the platform, retailers can further understand consumer preferences to potentially drive more traffic, engagement and sales. Additionally, they can address challenges posed in visual commerce, such as inconsistent quality of images due to a variety of cameras, skills and lighting, as well as consumers’ difficulties appreciating products’ usage in real life.
