HSN CEO Steps Down To Lead Weight Watchers

1grossmanHSN announced that the retailer’s CEO Mindy Grossman will step down from her position after 11 years in the job. Shortly after the announcement, Weight Watchers International Inc. said Grossman will become its new CEO, effective July 2017.

Grossman’s resignation from HSN will be effective on May 24, 2017, and she will not stand for election to the Board of Directors, according to the company. Until then, she will work with senior management and the Board to “ensure a smooth transition.”

“I’m extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished at HSNi and believe that the company is well positioned for the future,” Grossman said in a statement. “With a focus on customer engagement, digital innovation, product excellence and immersive and community-oriented content, HSNi will be able to thrive in the modern retail environment, where consumers are looking for experiences and meaning.”

Grossman is a 38-year retail veteran. She joined HSN’s former parent company IAC Retail in 2006, and became HSN CEO in 2008. Prior to that, Grossman served as Global VP at Nike and President and CEO of Polo Jeans Company.  She was listed as one of the top 50 women in world business by The Financial Times in 2010 and 2011.
