Chico’s FAS has appointed Diane Ellis as President of its Chico’s brand. In her new role, Ellis will lead all business activities for the retailer, reporting to Shelley Broader, President and CEO of Chico’s FAS.
Ellis joins Chico’s from The Limited, where she served as CEO since 2013. Ellis helped drive the strategy behind the company’s growth and business transformation. Previously, she was President and Chief Operating Officer of Brooks Brothers, and was a founding partner of Lighthouse Retail Group. Ellis has 35 years of retail experience in merchandising, planning, strategy, e-Commerce, product development, supply chain and more.
“Diane is a seasoned leader who has proven time and again that she is one of the most strategic business and brand builders in retail. She brings merchandising, marketing and operational expertise as well as a strong passion for our customers,” said Broader, in a statement. “As we continue to position our Company to win in the future, I am proud to welcome Diane to Chico’s.”

The appointment follows struggling Q2 results for Chico’s: net sales dropped by 7.3% compared to Q2 2015. The retailer also announced that it will cut 200 corporate and field leadership jobs as an attempt to reduce costs.
