Catalina has named Gerald “Jerry” Sokol Jr. as its CEO, effective immediately. His experience includes leading technology and consumer-focused companies across a wide variety of markets, including the U.S., Europe, China, Japan, Australia and Latin America.
Sokol was most recently CEO of Amtrak. He was previously CEO and President of Vertis Communications, a printing and targeted direct marketing firm, and earlier held several leadership roles at AOL, including EVP of International Operations and Strategy.
Andy Heyman had stepped down as CEO of Catalina in June, according to Tampa Bay Business Journal. The decision to shake up Catalina’s leadership was made due to “initiatives underway to improve performance, streamline decision-making and enhance Catalina’s competitive position.”
