Save A Lot and Leevers Supermarkets have introduced a new store format, Save A Lot y Mas, designed to serve Hispanic consumers with an expanded selection of fresh Hispanic produce, specialty meats and bakery items designed for both cultural relevance and everyday value.

The store, located in Overland, Mo. in the St. Louis metro area, will operate as a test-and-learn facility. The retailers also launched the Ahorra Mucho store format in Aurora, Colo. in October 2024.

“We’re excited to bring these offerings to the vibrant St. Louis community,” said Jon Koonz, COO at Leevers Supermarkets in a statement. “Using what we learn here, and in our locations in Colorado, we hope to be able to bring insights about how best to serve this growing customers base.”

The Save A Lot y Mas store also will introduce updated graphics and advertising designed to better connect with Spanish-speaking shoppers, with Spanish featured prominently on in-store signage, digital promotions and other marketing materials.
