Jane.com Boosts Revenue With New Mobile App

JaneRetailers can experience significant results by optimizing mobile in their business models. For example, Jane.com generates 70% of its total revenue from mobile and handheld device traffic since launching its iOS app in July 2014, according to a company statement.

“Mobile is a game changer, particularly in a crowded space like ours where many competitors don’t have a mobile app or don’t focus much on mobile responsive design,” said Mike McEwan, CEO and Founder, Jane.com. “We realized early on that if our customers are on their phones we need to be there as well.”

The Jane iOS app and recently launched Android app offer daily deals on items that include women’s clothing and home décor. Shoppers can view up to 200 deals per day. The app offers secure one-touch checkout through its integration with Braintree, a PayPal company that specializes in secure mobile payments.

“Our goal was to have the most unobtrusive and super-simple design,” said McEwan. “When customers get to the checkout point it should be a matter of just clicking a button. Our dev team and Braintree integration matched what I had in mind perfectly.” He added: Now, Jane.com has shifted its design and marketing philosophy to “mobile first, everything else second.”
