Google is reportedly planning to open its first permanent brick-and-mortar location in Chicago’s Fulton Market district, located just two blocks south of its Midwest headquarters. The company is close to finalizing a lease for almost 14,000 square feet on the first and second floors of several connected two-story brick buildings, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The flagship store will showcase the company’s electronic products, including smartphones, tablets, thermostats, home security systems and Google Home. Up to now, Google’s only retail spaces have been pop-up stores and small store-within-a-store locations.
The company has yet to confirm its plans for any permanent stores, and no sites have been reported in any other cities.
