Beginning in August 2025, Target will offer its new Champion collection of activewear and sporting goods for kids and adults. The 500+-piece collection includes apparel, accessories and bags and will be infused with on-trend colors, exclusive premium fabrics, unique washes, detailed trims and the unique Champion logo. Most items will be priced under $40.
Following this initial release, the companies will launch a limited-time collection of classic varsity-inspired apparel for women and men on Target.com and in dedicated spaces in the front of most Target stores. This launch is timed for September 2025.
“When you combine Champion’s legacy in sportswear with Target’s style authority, the result is something special,” said Rick Gomez, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at Target in a statement. “We know our consumers love new and differentiated items, and this partnership is all about merging sport, style and culture in a relevant way that resonates with them.”
Authentic Brands Group purchased the Champion brand from HanesBrands for $1.2 billion in June 2024, making it the brand management company’s second-largest acquisition. Champion, which has been in operation for over a century, generates nearly $3 billion in annual global revenues. In a September 2024 press release announcing the finalization of the purchase, Authentic said it is “set to expand Champion’s global presence by building on its legacy as a trailblazer in athleticwear and the creator of the iconic hoodie.”

“As one of the most recognizable names in apparel, Champion’s presence at Target — a retailer know for its strong connection to the consumer and intentional assortment — marks a significant moment,” said Jamie Salter, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Authentic.
