Camping World Holdings, a network of RV-centric retailers, has purchased TheHouse.com, an e-Commerce platform specializing in bikes, sailboards, snowboards and other outdoor gear. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The addition of TheHouse.com will enable Camping World to better serve customers across its Camping World RV SuperCenter network. The expansion of its customer base and product offerings will also position the company for e-Commerce growth.
Camping World was one of the winning bidders in the auction of Gander Mountain assets, reportedly paying $390 million. Marcus Lemonis, Chairman of Camping World, said the acquisition of TheHouse.com enhances the renewed strategy behind the new Gander Outdoors model.

“We believe this acquisition of the online retailer, TheHouse.com, continues our focus of an omnichannel approach”, Lemonis said in a statement. “The management team not only possesses a strong knowledge of the active sports market but also has a keen eye for the development and invention of products.
“This new acquisition, coupled with Overtons.com and GanderOutdoors.com, continues our effort to grow our understanding of the outdoor enthusiast and furthers our strategy of continuing to diversify both in activity and demographic of our Good Sam Club member,” Lemonis added.
Camping World and TheHouse.com will maintain their unique branding following completion of the acquisition.
