H&M NYC Flagship Spotlights ‘Buy From a Black Woman’ With Holiday Events

Fashion retailer H&M is providing a high-profile platform to Black women-owned businesses with the Buy from a Black Woman Holiday Market at its Times Square flagship. Kicking off on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, the event will feature 26 businesses owned by Black women from across the country, featuring products ranging from skin care to stationery, home accessories and more.

Customers will be able to meet the vendors in person, and new vendors will be featured at events on Dec. 4, 11 and 14. Many of the featured vendors support additional causes, reflecting BFABW’s motto, “When you support a Black Woman Business Owner, you support a whole community.”

The H&M-Buy From a Black Woman (BFABW) partnership, announced in March 2021, kicked off this past summer with the Inspire Tour, a series of pop-up shopping events in 15 U.S. cities spotlighting local businesses.

BFABW, a nonprofit organization founded in 2016 by Nikki Porcher, now connects more than 600 Black Women-owned businesses across the U.S., providing a community of support with the goal of helping them flourish. Through the H&M partnership, 56 businesses have been featured in H&M stores and at events.

“We came together with the purpose of amplifying Black Women business owners and it is because of our cooperative passion that we can keep going,” said Porcher in a statement. “Buy From a Black Woman and H&M are here for Black Women.”
