Walmart has onboarded Rina Hurst as the new VP of its Walmart GoLocal delivery service platform. Hurst joins the retail giant from Shipt, where she served as Chief Business Officer (CBO), helping the company drive significant growth and expand its footprint through hundreds of partnerships with retailers including 7-Eleven, Walgreens and Sephora.

During her tenure at Shipt, Hurst drove strategic retail, brand and innovation partnerships and played a central role in optimizing order volume. In 2021 alone, Shipt’s orders grew 252% compared with 2019, while Shipt Driven, its delivery-only service, grew 150% over 2020, according to an article on the Shipt site. Before Shipt, Hurst spent a decade at Target in various roles across merchandising and business partnerships.

In her new role at Walmart GoLocal, Hurst will oversee the strategic direction, operations and general management of the business as it continues to scale and onboard new retailers to its service. Over two years, Walmart GoLocal has grown to serve third-party retailers across more than a dozen industries, enabling deliveries across more than 18,000 U.S. zip codes.

The main goal, according to Jennifer McKeehan, SVP of End-to-End Delivery at Walmart U.S., is to tap into Hurst’s deep last mile and delivery expertise to support the team as they strive to “innovate and expand how we serve leading retailers with delivery,” she said in a statement.

“The delivery space is constantly evolving, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to expand Walmart GoLocal’s capabilities and build new relationships with retailers looking for reliable and customizable local delivery solutions,” said Hurst in a statement.
