Walgreens is upping the ante on same-day delivery with the debut of a new 24-hour, 7-days-a-week service in nearly 400 locations across the U.S.
Customers can now order from Walgreens.com/SameDayDelivery or the Walgreens app to receive an assortment of more than 27,000 items delivered in as little as one hour, no matter the time of day. Customers will have the option to select the nearest 24-hour location to place their order, which will be fulfilled if they are in delivery range.
Items available through the service include groceries, over-the-counter medications, personal care items, household essentials and more. Customers who are members of the company’s myWalgreens loyalty program also can earn and redeem cash rewards through the service, as well as use personalized digital coupons and savings offers.
At launch, 24-hour same-day delivery covers most of the country, but is not currently available in Alaska, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming. To celebrate the new offering, Walgreens is offering customers free delivery on orders over $20 through Dec. 10.

Walgreens 24-Hour Same-Day Delivery represents a continued progression of the company’s efforts to provide convenient shopping solutions for customers, which also have included in-store and curbside pickup and same-day prescription delivery. Walgreens also is piloting a 30-minute pickup guarantee in New Mexico, Oklahoma and select Texas markets, where orders are offered free if not ready within 30 minutes.
“Walgreens knows that taking care of health and wellbeing isn’t exclusive to business hours and that needs can pop up at any time of day — that’s why we’re always looking for ways to enhance the customer experience with convenient and trusted solutions,” said Stefanie Kruse, Group VP of Digital Commerce at Walgreens in a statement. “As the place customers turn to for their last-minute needs, we know they will find value in being able to access the items they need most, no matter the hour, right to their door.”
