Walmart has launched a new ecommerce site and customer experience designed specifically for small-and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and nonprofits. The aim of the Walmart Business platform is to “remove complexity in purchasing, lower costs and give our customers more opportunities to serve their customers and communities.”
With a curated assortment of more than 100,000 items, the new site features categorization and navigation features tailored to the needs of organizational shoppers. Available products cover categories including office supplies and furniture, food and beverage, restroom, electronics, classroom and facility needs.
Organizations can create multi-user accounts with up to five users, allowing members of the same company to share payment information, order history and purchasing capabilities. Qualified organizations also can enroll in the Walmart Tax-Exemption Program to automatically have eligible taxes removed during checkout.
Additionally, companies can upgrade their membership plan to the new Walmart Business+ membership, which offers free shipping with no minimums; free pickup and delivery from store with a $35 minimum order; 2% rewards on orders of $250 or more; and savings of 5% on eligible subscription orders. Walmart Business+ membership costs $98 per year.

“We know millions of SMBs and nonprofits utilize Walmart’s stores and website to purchase supplies to support their day-to-day operations,” said Ashley Hubka, SVP and General Manager of Walmart Business in a statement. “These customers are under more pressure than ever due to inflation and supply chain issues, adapting to a hybrid workforce and post-pandemic behavioral shifts. As we continue to evolve the shopping experience, we are committed to listening to SMB and nonprofit customers to help them address the challenges they face today, and the ever-changing challenges that come with running an organization.”
