Whole Foods Market is partnering with Schweitzer to bring its Daily Shop concept to life. The first location opened in New York City on Sept. 18, 2024, providing customers with a flexible and modular space that can evolve with changing seasons, trends and needs.
Together with its sister agency Interstore, Schweitzer developed the store design concept and is overseeing the build-out of the stores, which will range from 7,000 to 14,000 square feet in size and primarily launch in urban markets. The Daily Shop concept was developed to achieve “maximum output with minimum input in terms of material usage,” Schweitzer shared on its website. For example, Schweitzer custom-made the store’s refrigeration to ensure display cases and counters can be connected and removed easily to accommodate layout changes.
The Daily Shop’s color palette iterates upon Whole Foods’ corporate green and white colors and is complemented by natural elements, including brick walls and wooden accents that create a neutral and calming space to successfully showcase the store’s products. Custom lighting developed with Imoon also spotlights selected products.
