Gigwalk Adds A Mobile Marketplace

iPerceptions Introduces Facebook Survey

More retailers are realizing the benefits of gathering and analyzing feedback on social networking sites. However, tracking unaided feedback consistently is still a daunting task for many organizations. The Facebook User Feedback survey offering from iPerceptions was developed to leverage an “active invitation” methodology that collects feedback among all users who visit a company Facebook page. As a result, merchants can gauge customer satisfaction and pinpoint sentiment more accurately. All surveys include four standard questions, which allow retailers to compare results to competitors and identify necessary improvements more quickly and easily.


MokiMobility Offers A Customizable Kiosk App

Consumers are seeking more compelling brick-and-mortar shopping experiences. QThru Joins Mobile POS Movement

Some merchants are arming store associates with tablets and smartphones to enable mobile POS. Others are fixing mobile devices in stores for seamless self-serve strategies. A new solution from QThru, however, enables shoppers to complete transactions using their own smartphones. The mobile app, which currently is available for iOS and Android, features a variety of tools, such as a barcode scanner and digital scale. Users also have access to deals, a “favorites” section, a digital shopping list and in-depth product information. Once consumers are ready to check out, they go to a fixed kiosk, scan a barcode and complete their transaction using credit card information saved in the app.

Revel Systems Focuses On iPad For Mobile POS

The iPad-based POS solution from Revel Systems allows retailers such as Belkin and Goodwill to complete transactions in real time at any chosen location within a brick-and-mortar store. Along with full PCI compliance, Revel can connect with peripheral tools and technologies such as scanners, scales, mag stripe readers and receipt printers, among others. The solution integrates with the LevelUp payment platform, as well as Dwolla, which charges no fees for transactions under $10 and  25 cents per transaction for any amount over $10, with no service agreement requirement or cancellation fees for stores.

ShopKeep POS Targets Quick-Serve Retail

ShopKeep POS was designed to empower employees at quick-serve restaurants, including bakeries, cafes/coffee shops, ice cream stores and pizzerias. With the latest version of the iPad solution, employees can customize and modify orders, as well as adjust pricing more easily. Additionally, once servers place orders via their tablet devices, orders are printed in real time in the kitchen, which allows internal operations to run more smoothly — especially during peak times. Merchants can download the offering at any time in the Apple App Store.

Shopperception Analyzes Shopper Behavior

Shopperception is a shopper behavior analytics solution, designed to help retailers better understand consumers’ paths to purchase in stores. Using the PrimeSense 3D sensor to track shopper movements, Shopperception translates motions into application inputs. Once consumer behaviors are tracked, results are generated into timely reports on hot activity zones in shelves and traffic flow analysis. Additionally, the software can help retailers determine how long it takes shoppers to pick up products from shelves. With these metrics in their possession, merchants can refine in-store merchandising, offers and overall store design, potentially leading to improved brick-and-mortar shopping experiences.

SnipSnap App Provides Digital Coupons

Paper coupons are cumbersome, fragile and easy to lose. Mobile applications such as SnipSnap help make the coupon redemption process simpler for today’s digitally savvy shoppers. Using the SnipSnap app, which is available for iPhone and Android devices, consumers can take a picture of a printed coupon and redeem it via their smartphones and in stores. Shoppers with iPhones also can export their coupons into Passbook, the new mobile wallet and loyalty card application from Apple. Retailers that partner with SnipSnap can develop targeted coupons based on consumers’ past coupon “snipping” history, leading to increased purchases and a boost in brick-and-mortar foot traffic. Since the launch of SnipSnap in June 2012, users have uploaded more than two million coupons for retailers such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s and Target.

TailoredMail Taps Mobile Email Marketing

As smartphone and tablet adoption continues to rise, mobile-optimized marketing assets are becoming even more vital to retail success. TailoredMail, a provider of mobile-optimized email marketing solutions, recently released the newest version of EmailApptimizer. Version 6.0 of the solution helps organizations turn emails, landing pages and microsites into mobile touch-screen applications.
