Sears Canada has named Ronald Boire its full-time President and CEO, a position he has held on an interim basis since Oct. 15, 2014. Boire initially joined the executive team after former President and CEO Douglas Campbell resigned for personal reasons.
Prior to his role with Sears Canada, Boire was EVP, Chief Merchandising Officer and President of Sears and Kmart stores in the U.S. Throughout his career, he has held executive positions at Brookstone, Toys ‘R’ Us and Best Buy as well as senior roles at Sony Electronics.
“I appreciate the confidence that the Board of Directors has shown in me and in the team that is working with me to drive the transformation of the company,” Boire said. “I am aware of the challenges facing the evolving Canadian retail marketplace, and Sears Canada in particular. I understand what needs to be done and I am confident that our associates are engaged and focused on the drivers of our future success.”
