Nordstrom, Inc. has promoted Deniz Anders to SVP and Chief Marketing Officer, and appointed DICK’s Sporting Goods senior executive Nina Barjesteh to the role of President of Nordstrom Product Group. Anders’ promotion follows the retirement of Scott Meden, which was announced earlier in 2022.
A 22-year Nordstrom veteran, most recently as VP of Marketing, Anders will now lead the company’s marketing initiatives in brand programs, digital marketing, creative strategy and corporate affairs.
“Deniz is a proven leader with the ability to drive integrated marketing strategies and plans to grow the business and connect with customers in meaningful ways across all channels and touch points,” said Ken Worzel, Chief Customer Officer at Nordstrom in a statement. “Her deep marketing experience, paired with her understanding of our business, will be of enormous value as we continue to build on our heritage of service to get closer to our customers.”
At DICK’s Sporting Goods, Barjesteh served as SVP of Product Development and Design. Her previous experience includes serving as the chief merchant at Rue 21, and she worked with Target for 20 years in roles including VP Merchandise Manager for Women’s Apparel, VP Merchandise Manager for Kids and VP of Apparel and Accessories Branding.
