With Walmart now devoting significant resources to Jet.com after acquiring the company in August, Hayneedle has more reasons to accelerate its growth path.

Tom Clement has re-joined Hayneedle as VP of Operations, where he will lead the strategy and execution of Hayneedle’s supply chain, fulfillment and engineering/facilities functions. Clement previously served as the retailer’s VP of Supply Chain and Logistics from 2008 to 2014. He returns to Hayneedle from Nike’s North American division, where he directed e-Commerce and store supply chain development.

Ben Dekarske fills the role of Director of E-Commerce Systems, where he will lead the online retailer’s technology division. In this role Dekarske plans to enhance the user experience, speed and performance of the web site while developing the brand’s mobile app.

Lindsey Johnson is the new Director of Talent Acquisition. Johnson led the global talent acquisition functions for ACI Worldwide and has more than 12 years of experience in talent acquisition.

With this personnel expansion, the Hayneedle team will have as many as 1,000 employees by the holiday season. The retailer is presently hiring for positions ranging from entry-level to director roles in departments such as Technology, Human Resources, Operations, Marketing, Merchandising and Customer Care.

“Expanding our team will enable Hayneedle.com to build on the substantial growth we have experienced and provide us with added expertise to scale operations and pursue new, high impact services,” said Jon Barker, President and CEO of Hayneedle. “We are expecting to exceed $500 million in sales by end of year and are excited to create new jobs in California, Ohio, and at our headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.”

Brian Gress, Director of IT Governance at Hayneedle, will be speaking at the #RSP16 webinar: Are Bot Operators Eating Your Lunch? on Sept. 20.
