Gainesville, Fla.-based Butler Enterprises has appointed Mary Reichardt as its new Director of Marketing for its Neighborhoods At Butler project, home to more than 150 stores and two million square feet of retail shops and restaurants.
Reichardt arrives at Butler from the Visit Gainesville-Alachua County Tourism Development Office, where she served as Director of PR and Marketing and created the county’s first brand strategy to establish awareness across the U.S. and Europe. Reichardt earlier served as Director of Communications for State Senator Keith Perry.
“The Neighborhoods At Butler will expand the influence of a retail icon into an even stronger regional attraction for shopping, dining, and entertainment,” Reichardt said.

After decades as a sprawling big box and strip center shopping area and home to more than 100,000 daytime employees, Butler Plaza will soon move into a mixed-use mode with the development of the Butler Town Center. The 758,000-square-foot expansion will include apartments over first-floor retail and restaurants, a seven-story Hyatt hotel and higher-end specialty shops around walkable, landscaped main streets, according to Gainesville.com. This follows recent retail trends of stores moving toward a “Town Square” feel, and changing the brick-and-mortar shopping experience.
