Zabar’s Selects OrderGroove To Launch New Subscription Commerce Program


Zabar’s
, a New York-based gourmet specialty food retailer, has replaced its existing subscription e-Commerce program with technology from OrderGroove. The new program, Z-Peat, offers customers ability to subscribe to favorite and/or frequently purchased Zabar’s items. Products are automatically shipped to customers who register online for the replenishment program.

Using the OrderGroove RetentionEngine platform, Zabar’s is able to offer “clear options for changing a shipment schedule, including accelerating orders, skipping orders or opting out of a subscription,” according to a OrderGroove press release. “Customers also receive subscription email notifications for key events such as subscriptions started, order reminders, subscriptions canceled, items added to upcoming shipments and more.”

Each subscription order also includes samples of new products and flavors. “This helps customers discover products they may have been unaware of previously, and helps Zabar’s drive customer retention and recurring sales,” according to OrderGroove.

“Many of our customers want to receive their favorite Zabar’s products, like coffee and bagels, every few weeks,” said Larry Zilko, Director of Zabars.com. “Having to order online for each delivery is an inconvenience. With OrderGroove, we can offer our customers a unique and valuable replenishment service so they may always have their favorite Zabar’s products on hand. While we attempted to build our own replenishment system previously, OrderGroove brought the team, insight and technology to ensure the best solution for our business and our customers.”
