Verifone and Visa are collaborating to help merchants offer shoppers a more secure and streamlined omnichannel purchasing experience. The partnership calls for Verifone to connect its point-of-sale (POS) gateway to Visa’s CyberSource global merchant payment management platform. The joint solution is designed to provide a single platform that allows merchants to safely secure customer data, combat fraud and integrate digital and offline payment systems.
“As consumers shop and pay in multiple channels, merchants are looking to integrate payment systems to facilitate a single view into their customers’ buying behaviors,” said Andre Machicao, SVP of CyberSource, a Visa Inc. company. “This announcement is about two industry leaders coming together to create that view for merchants so they can better serve and understand the needs of consumers globally, across all commerce channels, and without sacrificing security.”
The companies will offer the integrated CyberSource Verifone solution starting in September 2015, allowing retailers to address concerns that include:

- Accepting cross-channel payments;
- Centralizing transaction reporting;
- Mitigating online fraud risk;
- Securely storing consumer payment data; and
- Deploying EMV chip-certified POS devices.
