Town Shoes, a mall-based retailer of high-grade footwear and fashion accessories, fully implemented Vision Merchandising and Vision Store solutions from Jesta I.S. across 69 newly acquired Canadian stores ― in 90 days.
The smooth implementation of these platforms across all stores in such a compressed timeframe “impacted the core of our business,” said Peter Gerhardt, CFO of Town Shoes, “with minimal impact to normal operations.”
When Town Shoes purchased the Canadian stores from Sterling Shoes in April 2012, an immediate IT challenge was to select and implement POS and merchandising software solutions by the upcoming Labor Day weekend, typically a busy time for shoe merchants. All 69 locations also had to go live simultaneously, according to a Jesta I.S. press release. Despite the challenge of a narrow implementation window, all locations successfully went live with Vision Merchandising and Vision Store by the target date. In addition to capturing and streamlining POS transactions during this active sales period, the rollout enabled buyers to analyze and place more precise orders for the upcoming season.
