Sears and EcoRebatesunveiled a rebate program for California “SHOP YOUR WAY” members and appliance customers to save instantly on qualifying products. Sears is the first major full-line retailer to launch a paperless rebate program.
In the past decade, utility corporations have contributed $7 billion to energy efficiency campaigns. Funding will increase to $10 billion by 2025, according to Lawrence Berkley National Lab. In another survey conducted by the Association of Energy Service Professionals, 55% of homeowners are seeking energy efficiency in homes, but only a small percentage take part in special programs and offers offered by utility vendors.
Participating utility retailers include Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE) and Southern California Gas (SoCalGas). Eligible products include refrigerators, clothes washers, dishwashers, air conditioners and water heaters.
