Rue21 Celebrates E-Commerce Launch With Social Campaign

, a specialty apparel retailer for young men and women, recently launched a new e-Commerce site to offer consumers access to fashionable apparel and accessories at a discount price. 

The new e-Commerce site will “mark a new chapter for our company and will be key to building our brand for the future,” said Bob Fisch, President and CEO of rue21. Although the retailer has been successful  with its brick-and-mortar presence, the e-Commerce site will build on that momentum “by providing our customers with the same trendy merchandise at competitive prices at their fingertips.”

But the e-Commerce site is just the first of many initiatives, according to Mark Chrystal, Sr. VP of e-Commerce, Planning and Allocation at rue21. “It’s no secret that the business landscape is changing. This is just the first step for rue21 toward a complete omnichannel experience. We are building the foundation that is required to reposition rue21 in today’s marketplace.”


To celebrate the launch of the new site, rue21 is hosting a “Shop & Win” contest, which fans can enter by filling out an online form listing their favorite rue21 item. Photos also can be uploaded on Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and Twitter using the hash tag Five winners will be selected to receive a $50 gift card when the campaign concludes on Nov. 27.
