Petland, a franchiser of retail pet product stores, is expanding its operations into eight new markets starting in 2016: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Although Petland expects to open stores in Saudi Arabia in 2016, specific plans to open stores in other countries have not yet been determined.
Various members of the Petland team will be visiting Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to plan the launch of the Petland pilot store in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. These team members will assist with site location, pet selection, merchandise and training, according to a company statement.

“Finding the right partner takes time,” said Steve Huggins, VP of Business Development and International Relations at Petland. “We spent more than two years working with a family to determine the Petland Master Franchise was the right fit for a partnership. Our new partners plan to develop many Petland locations. They believe this will improve the lives of their people and their pets.”
