The Orvis Company has implemented the MID Retail Merchandise Advanced Allocation suite to manage flow of merchandise to its 51 specialty sporting goods stores and 9 outlet locations.
The MID Advanced Allocation software is designed to provide each store a unique selection of merchandise by recommending and executing actions based on the demographics of the individual stores’ shopper profiles. With fully automated workflows from MID, retailers can maintain ideal store inventory levels with minimal manual intervention from their planning and allocation teams.
Julie Cheney, Director of Planning and Allocation for Orvis, said the implementation of the MID Retail solutions will help keep the company remain “’in-stock’ on the items customers want,” and enable Orvis to “accurately control inventory position while improving customer satisfaction.”
