Online Convenience Delivery Service Gopuff Launches in NYC

Gopuff, which made its name delivering products to fill immediate, everyday needs in as little as 30 minutes, launched operations in four of New York City’s five boroughs on Oct. 20. The platform will operate more than a dozen locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens, with plans to expand to Staten Island and double its NYC locations by the end of 2021.

The company, which serves consumers in more than 1,000 cities and operates over 500 microfulfillment centers and retail locations in the U.S. and Europe, has been having a busy 2021. Gopuff raised $1.15 billion in March and then another $1 billion in August. The company also acquired both the Fancy and Dija delivery platforms earlier this year.

“We are excited to officially launch Gopuff in New York City,” said Co-founder and Co-CEO Yakir Gola in a statement. “Gopuff is an integral builder in every community we operate, delighting customers, promoting local entrepreneurs, creating jobs and supporting local programs.”

Gopuff offers an assortment of more than 4,000 national and global products in every location and also works with hyperlocal partners. In NYC, Gopuff has partnered with several local businesses to quickly deliver their products to customers. Additionally, for the next 10 weeks Gopuff is offering a series of local brand promotions for New Yorkers that include offerings from NYC favorites Juice Press, Milk Bar and Serendipity.

“Gopuff put the instant needs category on the map and has spent the last eight years learning how to address the complexities of the business, including the specific needs of each market,” said Rafael Ilishayev, Co-founder and Co-CEO in a statement. “These learnings, coupled with Gopuff’s operational expertise, allow us to ensure that when we enter a new market, the customer experience will be exceptional.”
