Inforum 2018: Albertsons Deploys Food And Beverage Platform At Manufacturing Plants

Albertsons Cos. has implemented Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage (M3) at the company’s Norwalk, Calif. beverage plant, and plans to roll out the solution across all its U.S. manufacturing plants. Infor unveiled the news at the Inforum 2018 event.

The grocery giant will use Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage to support milk, bread and grocery manufacturing plants across the company, integrating the platform to support sales, production, finance and inventory operations. With the platform, the retailer also can manage a range of industry challenges, from tank scheduling and country of origin labeling to traceability and recipe management.

“With manufacturing plants across the country producing a variety of products, we needed a solution that would not require customization,” said Rucha Nanavati, Group VP of IT at Albertsons Companies in a statement.

Albertsons also is in process of implementing Infor software for product lifecycle management with Optiva. In addition, Albertsons uses Infor Workforce Management Time & Attendance, Lawson Financials and warehouse management system.

Infor Unveils Native Mobile App, Fashion PLM

At the event, Infor unveiled Infor Go, a new native mobile application that provides a centralized access-point for Infor and proprietary apps with Single Sign-On (SSO), designed and developed by the Infor OS team with support from Hook & Loop.

Infor Go will be available for Apple and Android devices. It enables users to move easily between applications, providing a role-based mobile experience that increases data accessibility, informed decision making and productivity. The solution also provides two-way communication through alerts, push notifications and collaboration.

The app also enables customers to allow role-based access to proprietary applications created with Infor Mongoose, an application development framework delivered as a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). The framework allows Infor customers to build applications that draw insights and provide intelligence using mission-critical data contained in Infor applications.

Infor also launched the Fashion Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Cloud, a native multi-tenant solution for fashion enterprises. Delivered as a cloud service, Fashion PLM Cloud offers a security infrastructure and competitive cost-of-ownership versus on-premise in a single-version software package.

Infor Fashion PLM Cloud, designed to provide a foundation for applying the latest digital technologies to the fashion product development process, supports the centralization of product design and development activities through more streamlined collaboration. The app is initially available for standalone provisioning from September 2018, and as an option with CloudSuite Fashion that is planned for November 2018 availability.
