The Home Depot has introduced an online guided version of MISSION TRANSITION, three free, self-paced online courses designed to provide military veterans with the tools to transition into the civilian workforce. Courses include: Optimize Your Resume, Build Your Personal Brand and What to Expect While Interviewing.

Approximately 200,000 service members leave the military each year, although only about one in four said they had a civilian job lined up, according to data from the Pew Research Center.

“Supporting the military community is a priority for our company,” said Tim Hourigan, EVP of Human Resources at The Home Depot in a statement. “We’re proud to launch MISSION TRANSITION online and provide transitioning service members with a convenient tool to help them confidently take the next step in their careers.”

Home Depot offers a range of military discounts and other benefits and employs tens of thousands of veterans and military spouses among its 470,000+ associates. Since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has invested more than $475 million in veteran causes and improved over 55,000 veteran housing facilities.
