East of England Co-operative Implements Galleria Merchandising Solutions

East of England Co-operative Society
, a collective of more than 200 local businesses and trading outlets across the UK, is partnering with Galleria Retail Technology Solutions to enhance its merchandising strategies and in turn, improve the customer experience.

With the partnership, the East of England Co-operative Society will implement Galleria’s Intelligent Store Optimization (ISO), Customer Centric Merchandising (CCM), Promotional Display Optimization (PDO), Store Operations Workbench (SOW) and Galleria Foundation Services (GFS) in more than 130 food stores and supermarkets.

East of England Co-operative Society needed a comprehensive solution suite to improve product relevance and availability across all stores. GFS will act as the central data repository, offering a workflow management system for business processes, security and integration with other systems used by the company. The CCM solution will enable the company to automate the creation of store-specific planograms, while SOW will deliver information to stores in real time via a web service. Finally, the ISO solution will help the Co-operative Society to implement automated macro space organization at the store level, while accessing “what if” analysis to determine the financial impact of specific merchandising decisions.

“We are excited to be working in partnership with Galleria to support the development of our retail strategies,” said John Dixey, IT Development Controller at East of England Co-operative. “The combination of Galleria solutions and analytics will enable us to tailor our retail offering and better meet our customer needs. Producing store specific planograms is essential to execute those strategies and achieve the benefits of store-level planning. Using Galleria’s solutions, we can ensure the product offering and inventory levels reflect local needs, sales patterns and space available in each store while improving product availability and limiting wastage.”
