DoorDash has launched a Made by Women platform designed to champion female chefs and restaurateurs and provide access to marketing, educational and financial resources. To inaugurate the program, the Made by Women Grant program, in partnership with the digital networking platform for women, Monday Girl, will provide 15 grants of $10,000 to Canadian women-owned restaurants.

“As a female leader, I am proud of the ongoing commitment at DoorDash to amplifying female voices and providing funding for women-owned businesses,” said Shilpa Arora, General Manager of DoorDash Canada in a statement. “This program aims to empower women across Canada and make a tangible impact and empower local economies. With DoorDash’s dedication to supporting female entrepreneurs and leaders, we aim to create lasting change and opportunities for women in the restaurant industry.”

The Made by Women program is an extension of the ongoing DoorDash Entrepreneurship & Access program, which helps increase opportunities for businesses owned by immigrants, people of color and women. DoorDash partners that are women-owned businesses can sign up to be self-identified within the app and gain access to the Made by Women program resources, including the educational and marketing support that will become available later in 2024.
