DICK’S Donates $500,000 To El Paso Middle School Athletics Programs

The DICK’s Sporting Goods Foundation (DSGF) has partnered with the Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes Mission Tiger to offers a Sports Matter grant to every middle school athletics department in El Paso, Texas. The donations, which total $500,000, will help ensure schools have the money they need to buy equipment for their athletics departments.

Tony the Tiger and football Hall of Famer LaDanian Tomlinson joined the effort to personally deliver sporting goods equipment to athletes at Wiggs Middle School. The program was part of DSGF’s overall charitable activities, which have donated more than $100 million to support youth sports teams and leagues in need and helped more than 1 million young athletes since 2014.

“At DICK’S we believe that sports make people better and we are committed to supporting all youth athletes in need through our Sports Matter program,” said Aimee Watters, Executive Director of The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation in a statement. “We’re proud to partner with Mission Tiger to help provide the much-needed funding and solutions to the communities we serve, especially here in El Paso.”
