Delsey Adopts TXT PLM To Facilitate International Expansion

Delsey
, a luxury luggage brand with more than 6,000 stores worldwide, is implementing Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) technology from TXT to help streamline design and product planning processes.

Sylvie Maillard, Group CIO of Delsey, said that TXTPLM was chosen for its compatibility with the company’s existing Microsoft ERP system and the solution’s popularity among other luxury good providers.

Using the TXTPLM software, Delsey is planning to improve processes throughout all phases of product development and execution, according to a company press release. Processes such as collection planning, design, development, sourcing and collaboration will help the retailer improve efficiencies and shorten overall time to market.

The TXTPLM software also is designed to help improve collaboration between Delsey merchandisers, designers and buyers, by centrally locating product data. All information related to product designs, cost of materials and lead times will be equally accessible to these employees.

“Delsey sells premium ranges of luggage and design-led bags, but what sells well in France tends to be quite different to what’s popular in North America or China,” said Catherine de Bleeker, Group Marketing Director for Delsey. “Being able to plan more accurately and strengthen the connection between planning and design — as well as monitor every step of the collection lifecycle across all products and localities — will be strategic to our growing international business.”
