Fashion retailer C&A is improving its digital operations, particularly product development, through a partnership with Centric Software. The company will leverage Centric’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution in Brazil, where it operates 300 stores across 125 cities.
C&A had been planning to implement PLM for approximately two years when the coronavirus pandemic made the need more urgent, due to all of its product development teams working remotely. The retailer’s team was previously centered around individual designers communicating with suppliers via email, but the deployment of Centric’s software helped C&A make the process more efficient.
“The pandemic not only greatly increased our digital channel sales and made it much more relevant, but it also accelerated the digital transformation of the company as a whole,” said João Souza, Head of Sourcing for the Women’s Department of C&A Brazil in a statement. “And, with that, we needed more assortments, more new models; it was in this context that we decided to leverage PLM.”
