On the eve of its 20th birthday, Amazon has introduced Prime Day, a global shopping event to be held July 15, 2015. On Prime Day, Amazon will offer deals to Prime members in the U.S., UK, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and Austria.
To participate in Prime Day, Amazon customers can sign up for a 30-day free trial of Prime at amazon.com/primeday. Deals will start at midnight, and new discounts will released every 10 minutes, according to a company statement. The eTailer also is touting that Prime Day will offer members more deals than Black Friday.
Prime members can shop for items across dozens of categories, including electronics, toys, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports and outdoor items. Members can find deals throughout the day on any device, including smartphones and tablets.

#PrimeLiving Photo Contest
In concurrence with Prime Day, Amazon is holding a #PrimeLiving Photo Contest, giving Prime members in eligible countries the chance to win a $10,000 Amazon Gift Card.
To qualify, members must sign into Prime Photos and submit a photo of a happy moment to the amazon.com/primeliving contest page. Photos will be selected and featured daily on Amazon’s social channels leading up to Prime Day. One winner will be selected in each country based on the image that most creatively captures a happy moment of #PrimeLiving.
