Instacart has teamed up with workforce payments platform Branch to develop a new rewards debit card for its “Shoppers,” the contract employees who pick and deliver orders for the online grocery marketplace.

The Shopper Rewards Card is a debit card with no annual fees or credit check that will be issued by Mastercard and can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted. The card comes with a connected business bank account provided by Lead Bank.
The card will become available to U.S. Instacart Shoppers in two phases, starting in October 2025 and then April 2026. Shoppers that enroll in the program will earn a range of benefits, including cash back of 1% to 3% on gas purchases and EV charging and no-fee ATM withdrawals. Cashback rewards will increase in value as Shoppers use the card more.
Through the card, Shoppers also will be eligible for free automatic payouts of their earnings. When auto-payout is enabled, earnings will be directly deposited in the Shopper Rewards bank account for free after every batch a shopper completes, enabling contractors to receive their earnings quickly with no fees. Shoppers that opt to have their payouts deposited in a different account will be charged $1.50 for the Instant Cashout service. Weekly direct deposits to a Shoppers’ primary account will continue to be free.
