Waterdrop — a microdrink CPG brand — has debuted its first U.S. retail store in Miami Beach, Fla. Launched in Vienna in 2017, waterdrop operates 15 brick-and-mortar stores and serves 1 million+ customers across Europe. The brand expanded to the U.S. with its ecommerce business in spring 2021, now being followed by its first retail location on Miami’s iconic Lincoln Road shopping corridor.
“The last five years have seen exponential growth and international demand for waterdrop, and the U.S. is a key market where we have been eager to establish a presence,” said Martin Murray, CEO and Founder of waterdrop in a statement. “Miami is one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., and the perfect location to introduce waterdrop’s flagship retail property. We look forward to introducing new consumers to our innovative products and building an enthusiastic local community.”
The brand’s mission is to “inspire its growing global community to drink more water and live healthier and more sustainable lives.” Offering an enhanced, customizable approach to hydration with its microdrinks (compact, sugar-free cubes that dissolve in water, made from real fruit and plant extracts in a variety of flavors), waterdrop also supports sustainability by offering steel and glass bottles and other reusable beverage accessories.
The new U.S. flagship in Miami Beach features approximately 1,050 square feet of retail space, designed by Jessica Boskoff and the team at 23Layers. The store features a custom hydration bar with built-in water taps to dispense fresh filtered water for product sampling. Additionally, a colorful 16 x 11-foot mural was created live during the store’s grand opening event by Chalk and Brush Design.
