This month, the Westfield Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, N.J. introduced Up Close: Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, an exhibition that allows visitors to experience Michelangelo’s famous ceiling frescoes from the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel without having to hop on a plane to Italy. In addition to this unique experience, visitors have the opportunity to learn the Italian language while surrounded by the near life-size reproductions.
Two 30-minute classes will be held each Monday evening through Oct. 9, led by an experienced, native-fluent Berlitz instructor. During the class, participants will learn and practice words and phrases that relate to travel, art and everyday conversations.
The language lessons are “a wonderful way to offer a one-of-a-kind learning experience, surrounded by the grandeur of Michelangelo’s beautiful art,” said Scott Sanders, Westfield’s Creative Head of Global Entertainment in a statement.

The art exhibit will also travel to Sacramento, Calif.; Los Angeles; San Diego; Seattle; Chicago and Annapolis, MD.
