More than nine locations at NFL venues, including Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium and Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., have incorporated cashierless technology from Zippin ahead of the new football season. Nissan Stadium now offers five frictionless Zippin Lanes and after incorporating four lanes, Allegiant Stadium has experienced:
- A 66% increase in speed of service;
- A 45% increase in sales for a traditional stand space compared to 2021; and
- A 30%+ increase in the number of product SKUs offered.
At retail spaces within these venues, which average 240 square feet, frictionless checkout serves as an important tool to ease customer traffic flow issues such as bottlenecks, self-checkout challenges and long checkout lines
Using the Zippin Lane turnkey technology, retailers can implement the prefabricated tools in as short as one week to offer easier single-lane retail destinations for a brief, one-way customer journey. In-store journeys for customers can be reduced to as little as 40 seconds, saving consumers valuable time as they navigate smaller retail spaces within airports, college campuses or arenas during showtime or on game day. Employees are free to focus on inventory management rather than cashier duties and, as the purchasing process becomes easier, customers are also inclined to spend more.
“The frictionless retail economy is gaining momentum as shoppers, fans and travelers demand easier, faster, and more convenient ways to get things done,” said Krishna Motukui, Zippin Co-founder and CEO in a statement. “We see a big opportunity to maximize underused space in numerous locations, from narrow concourses in venues and airports to high-traffic walkways on college campuses. Zippin Lane is our answer to the surging demand to quickly deploy frictionless retail experiences.”
