Former Dollar General executive Jeff Owen has come out of retirement to rejoin the company as EVP of Store Operations effective June 15, 2015. Owen will replace Greg Sparks, who departed from the position on June 9, 2015.
“Jeff’s experience at Dollar General brings unique perspectives and insights to our store operations team,” said Todd Vasos, CEO of Dollar General. “We look forward to welcoming him back to Dollar General and his contributions in this critical role as we execute our new store growth.”
Owen previously spent more than 20 years at Dollar General, most recently serving as the company’s SVP of Store Operations from August 2011 to July 2014. He began his career at Dollar General in 1992 as a store manager, and progressed through various roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to August 2011, Owen served as VP and Division Manager, and was Retail Division Manager from November 2006 to March 2007. Prior to November 2006, he was Senior Director of Operations Process Improvement.
